Support: Neutral The more supportive the shoe, the more stability it offers for a natural running feel. A combination of targeted support and strategically placed cushioning ensures a secure feel with every step. The Peg 40 stands out for its neutral support. It delivers a balanced feel, no matter whether you roll off the heel or forefoot. It’s suitable for both long and short runs, allowing for smooth transitions from heel to toe.

Cushioning: Medium The more cushioning you have underfoot, the softer and more comfortable your running experience. The cushioning provides impact protection when your feet hit the ground. Nike React technology, with its lightweight, durable foam, delivers a smooth, responsive feel underfoot. It maintains its shape run after run, ensuring a consistent wearing experience. 

Responsiveness: High The more responsive the shoe, the more energy return you get with every step. No matter if you want to run a little faster or with a little less effort – responsive shoes give you extra spring in every step, helping you get more out of your run. 

We’ve combined Nike React technology with two Zoom Air units (one in the toe and one in the heel), creating a bouncy, energetic feel as you push off from your toes. 

What’s new about the Peg 40? We placed more foam around the collar to ensure a better fit and greater comfort. Then we improved the lining and cushioning throughout to deliver an incredibly smooth fit. Comfortable fit and optimal feel The highly engineered, single-layer mesh provides a comfortable in-shoe feel and fit. We reworked the midfoot strap for a more contoured foot fit that adapts to every arch. 

Behind the Design When we sat down to develop the design of the Peg 40, we literally chose an inside-out approach, starting with an integrated midfoot band for a more secure but comfortable feel, as if the Peg is giving your arch a friendly, gentle hug. We wanted to make the inside of the shoe comfortable, breathable, and soft exactly where your feet are most sensitive: the toes, arch, and heel. We achieved this with a specially designed circular pattern that adapts to your foot. The suede material ensures a better fit without causing skin irritation from your first run to your last. The heel area optimizes the landing zone and improves rolling motion and durability. The waffle-inspired pattern delivers traction on the road. An extra flex groove enables smooth transitions.
